New Ripon High portable classrooms in place, work starts on baseball field
Students returned from the holiday break to see the Ripon High Career Technical Education / Increment One relocatable classrooms in place.
Those are the three new wood frame buildings – otherwise known as the Agricultural Technology Center portables – installed on the RHS campus.
CT Brayton & Sons handled the work during the break, with Ripon Unified Director of Operation and Maintenance Andy Strickland providing the update at the Jan. 9 school board meeting.
He noted that the wet weather was part of the challenge.
Increment One for CT Brayton crew consisted of site improvements such as a new parking lot, walkways, utilities, landscaping, and driveways / fire lanes. Some of the work will help pave the way for Increment Two, which is the future two-story Agricultural Technology Center at RHS.
In addition, Strickland and his crew have been working on converting the Junior Varsity baseball field to the new varsity softball field. He indicated that the sodding will take place during the next break.
His crew also utilized the new scissor lift to replace the lighting – 120 LED bulbs – in the North Gym.
